Special Fatima Event
The “world-famous” International Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima is currently on a two-year Fatima Centennial US Tour for Peace, marking the 100th Anniversary of the apparitions at Fatima, beginning with the Angel of Peace apparitions. August 1st – 2nd the statue will be at Holy Rosary. The visit will start with a Rosary Procession before Mass at 5:30 pm. Patrick Sabot, the representative who is traveling with the statue will have a short talk at 6:00pm followed by Mass at 6:30pm. Adoration will continue with the statue in the church throughout the night. Additional rosaries will be prayed at 7:45 am, 8:45 am, and 12:00 pm on Tuesday August 2nd and there will be Mass celebrated on Tuesday morning at 8:15 am as well. The tour at Holy Rosary will end on August 2nd after an hour of prayers and Benediction beginning at 3:00pm. The Men's Holy League group is putting together teams for the 19th Annual Life Links Golf Outing. The outing will be held on May 26, 2016 at The Wolverine Course at the Grand Traverse Resort. The cost is $130.00 per player and includes golf, dinner, lunch, door prizes and more. A few new assignments in our Diocese... ...

From Bishop Steven J. Raica: This weekend, several new assignments were announced. Please pray for the parishes and priests during this time of transition. Effective May 1, 2016 Reverend Matthew Wigton is appointed Chancellor for the Diocese of Gaylord [the first Chancellor in the history of our Diocese], in addition to his service as diocesan Vocations Director. His pastoral assignment to St. Mary in Charlevoix will continue until June 29, 2016. Effective June 29, 2016 Reverend Peter Wigton is assigned Administrator of St. Mary in Charlevoix. Fr. Wigton will also assist with Sacramental Ministry for Holy Cross on Beaver Island and continue assisting with the celebration of the Extraordinary Form of the Mass (Latin) at St. Mary Cathedral in Gaylord. Fr. Wigton has been serving as Parochial Vicar of the Catholic Community of Manistee. Reverend Duane Wachowiak is appointed Pastor to the parishes of St. Mary-St. Charles in Cheboygan, St. Clement in Pellston, Sacred Heart in Riggsville and St. Mary in Burt Lake. He has been on special assignment outside the diocese at Sacred Heart Seminary and School of Theology in Hales Corners, Wisconsin. Reverend James Gardiner is assigned Sacramental Minister to St. Clement in Pellston and Sacred Heart in Riggsville. He has been serving as Temporary Administrator of St. Mary-St. Charles in Cheboygan, St. Clement in Pellston and Sacred Heart in Riggsville. Reverend Scott Lawler is assigned Parochial Vicar for the Catholic Community of Manistee. Fr. Lawler will also continue assisting with the celebration of the Extraordinary Form of the Mass (Latin) at St. Mary Cathedral - Our Lady of Mount Carmel. He has been serving as Parochial Vicar to Our Lady of the Lake in Prudenville.
