New Parishioners
Welcome to Holy Rosary! We hope you find a deep faith life at our parish and grow in your love for our Lord. We have many activities and groups in our parish as well as a 24-hour adoration chapel. Faith Formation for students from pre-k through 8th grade runs during the school year on 1st and 3rd Sundays. We have various Catholic formation and information groups. If you are interested in becoming Catholic or joining our parish please fill out the forms below or call the office at 231-228-5429 for specific times and days.
Groups
Our parish has a thriving and active community and we welcome and encourage all members to participate in many ways. To join or inquire about any of the groups please contact the office at 231-228-5429, email mail@holyrosarycedar.org, or indicate on the 'New Parishioner Forms' which group you would like information about.
Padre Pio Chapel
A 24- hour adoration chapel. Substitutes and regular adorers are always welcome to contact Dosie at 231-632-7834 for more information or check out our adoration page.
Knights of the Altar
The Knights of the Altar is a group of boys and men that serve during mass. They meet on 2nd and 4th Saturdays at 9 am to practice, have recreation, and fellowship. One of the primary functions of the group is to "render faithful, reverent, and edifying service to God by assisting the priest."
Handmaids of the Altar
A group for girls to learn how to care for the church and altar. They learn skills such as gardening, floral design, knitting, and how to take care of the church and linens. They meet on 2nd and 4th Saturdays at 9 am for fellowship and to care for the church.
Choir
Choir members meet 30 minutes before Mass to practice. All are welcome. No experience is necessary. It is a beautiful way to give back to God.
Legion of Mary
Individuals seek to grow in holiness through Mary, bringing the "new evangelization: out into the world. They meet on Monday evenings to pray and discuss works.
Lectors and Ushers
Men and Women of the parish are welcome to offer their time and talents to ushering and lectoring at any weekend masses. Lectors are also needed for weekday masses.
Faith Formation
Children up to 8th grade are welcome to join our Faith Formation program which meets on 1st and 3rd Sundays during the school year at 9:15 am. Father also offers an adult class to all parishioners at the same time. Childcare is available.
Rosary Society
Women of the parish commit to praying one decade of the rosary a day combining to create a "living rosary" for each other and the priest. They meet quarterly for fellowship and to plan fundraising events such as the 'Fall Harvest Sale' and the 'May Crowning.'
Catholic Women's Club
The group of women supports the needs of the parish with fundraisers and special projects. They organize the 'Clothes Pin Booth' at the chicken dinner every year and donate the proceeds to the church.
St. Monica Sodality
A group that prays after 3rd Saturday morning mass for those who have left the faith.
Prayer Chain
Contact Carole Jones at 231-633-2111 or Rita Wilson at 231-228-5838 with prayer intentions or to be added to the list of people who pray for the needs of the parish and community.
Mom's Ministry
A ministry that provides care packages and sets up meal trains for new moms.
Men's Holy League
Holy League is an opportunity for men of the parish to gather for fellowship. It includes dinner, social time, a spiritual talk, a holy hour and confession. They meet on the first Wednesday of the month.
Holy Rosary Quilters
Parishioners make quilts together during the winter that are raffled at the chicken dinner and donated to various projects.
Music Guild
The Music Guild is an opportunity for children and adults to receive musical instruction at the school.
Traveling Our Lady of Fatima Statue
For years, Holy Rosary parishioners have had the opportunity to have the Fatima statue in their homes for nine days. Often, the family will get their home blessed or have their family enrolled in the Sacred Heart at that time.
Devotions
On Tuesdays and Fridays, the Holy Face devotions are done in the chapel. The Station of the Cross is in the church on Friday morning as well. Check the online calendar for times.
Study Groups
Throughout the year Father and others will offer Latin, Catechsim and other study groups for parishioners.
OCIA
OCIA is offered every year for those who are interested in learning more about their faith or for those who are looking into becoming Catholic.
Care of the Church
Many people donate their time to cleaning and flowers that help make the church beautiful. It can be once a month and on your own schedule.
